The project intends to implement within the ATR aerostructural program the promising and innovative technologies that respond to the intelligent factory paradigm (Smart Manufacturing or Smart Factory), with the aim of redesigning the industrial process of the ATR product line in the context of Industry 4.0.

Different industrial architectural solutions will be defined and analysed, identifying the best use strategy in order to maximize the benefits. Digital simulation methods will be developed for the analysis of the new architectures that will be considered, defining the performance objectives expected from the technological enablers (e.g. manufacturing automation, M2M, Additive Manufacturing, Cloud Computing/AI, Inter-connection and Cyber-Security, etc.) and the associated critical issues.

Preliminary analyzes will also be carried out on operational use, on workplace safety and data security issues, on applicable regulations and on the impacts on work organization compared to the current one. In this regard, studies will also be carried out on how the training of managerial and operational staff who will have to control the new digitalised processes will evolve, correctly interpreting the information.
